Clinical Supervision for Speech Pathologists

Individual clinical supervision for speech pathologists working with adults with swallowing, communication, secretion and upper airway concerns.

Supervision provides a dedicated space to discuss complex cases, strengthen clinical reasoning and reflect on your practice. Sessions are practical, collaborative and tailored to your experience, clinical setting and professional goals.

Areas of supervision

Supervision may include:

  • adult dysphagia assessment and management

  • motor neurone disease and other progressive neurological conditions

  • secretion and saliva management

  • informed choice, risk and complex decision-making

  • voice banking and communication preservation

  • report writing and clinical documentation

  • evidence appraisal, service development and professional practice

Sessions may involve discussion of de-identified cases, review of clinical reasoning or documentation, reflection on challenging situations, and planning practical next steps.

Supervision is available for:

  • early career speech pathologists

  • clinicians moving into adult or dysphagia practice

  • sole practitioners seeking an external clinical sounding board

  • experienced clinicians managing unfamiliar or complex cases

  • organisations arranging external supervision for staff

Supervision can be arranged as a one-off consultation or on an ongoing basis.

Appointments

Supervision is available by telehealth for speech pathologists across Australia.

Client information must be appropriately de-identified. Supervision supports, but does not replace, the treating clinician’s professional judgement, workplace governance or formal competency processes.
