For Referrers
Swallow Science Melbourne accepts referrals for adults with swallowing difficulties, including referrals from GPs, otolaryngologists (ENTs), respiratory physicians, gastroenterologists, neurologists, oncologists, geriatricians, allied health clinicians, support coordinators and other care providers.
How to refer
Referrals to Swallow Science Melbourne are simple and can be done in one of two ways:
1. Send us a referral letter, including:

any relevant results or reports

+/- medical imaging request for VFSS (see below for more info)

+/- any chronic disease management plans (GPs only)
Send via any of: admin@swallowscience.com.au, HealthLink (swallows) or Medical-Objects.
2. Complete our secure online referral form [link]. The secure form is integrated into our patient management software and allows you to upload relevant letters or documents.
Refer for Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS)
Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Studies are radiographic assessments which can only be requested/initiated by medical referrers. Along with your referral above, please send a completed imaging slip to Swallow Science Melbourne so we can coordinate a suitable assessment time with the patient and the radiology suite. You may wish to either:
